That said, it does give you remote access to nearly all camera features, is good for acquiring single images or bracketed , and can set up a mass storage device workflow. Direct transfer of images from a camera to a computer and workflow management of all procedures from shooting to saving images. It has been modified to be consistent with those used in the latest cameras for smoother operation. You must also reserve different pre-order products separately, instead of including them in one order. I'm going with 5 stars bec it is simply fantastic software in spite of the few cons I've indicated.
The Nikon website does offer the latest versions. With Camera Control Pro, you can go through the menus much more quickly than on the camera back, and set options the way you want. It does everything I want. This is a warning and best remember it. In this case the computer can see the camera just fine, and the software does too, but there is some problem and Camera Control Pro 2 will freeze after less than a minute and not recover until the camera is turned off. And yes, this software should be free like it is with your competition.
