Hold it to your mouth. We had a lot of fun with that world, and they made it just a visually memorable episode. Jess is revealed to have died during the final commercial break and the family gets angry with one another as secrets are found to have been shared. We thought by bringing in a married couple played by Bryan Cranston and Niecy Nash, that would be very distinct from the character Carrie played and the kind of relationship she had with Peter. By the way, the monster just farted. I would have never guessed that they would pull it off in such a way that makes it all make more sense, and add depth to the previous episode. Elsewhere, Peter's car becomes possessed by the ghost of self-help guru Tony Robbins.
Their talking dog Brian keeps baby Stewie in check while sipping martinis and sorting through his own life issues. Oh, you're looking at your steps? Same goes for all the other characters who suffered the same character derailment. It does look entirely douchy, and the apparatus itself definitely looks like a robot penis. When he tries to call her on her hypocrisy and claims that vaping is cool compared to cigarettes, she takes a photo of his vaping to point out just how stupid he looks. In the scene where both Chris and Stewie are fighting to get the vape, they end up kissing each other and both go to great length to describe the whole kissing moment. Is it true that once you become married, you have to wear khaki shorts and have far too many keys because it sure seems like that? Chris: You're such a hypocrite! And that just sets up the moment of Stewie, rightly or wrongly, feeling betrayed, and what that triggered in him.
I am also grateful that there was the additional plot of Chris and Stewie vaping, as it gave a nice break to the heavier plot going on with Brian. Brian wears a button-down shirt and a belt which stay in place when he breathes out his weight. To be honest with you, I think it's best if Brian took a break from looking for love and focused more on himself. No, the government's watching where you're going. Meanwhile, Chris gets stuck with being Stewie's babysitter when Meg is able to blackmail Peter. Though Stewie and Chris do not have many stories together, it is always a great dynamic to put the most intelligent and dumbest characters into a situation together. But it was tough, because she was a part of the show for so many years.
That's what the baby used to say, when I was your age. Aside from his work as a freelance writer, Jesse also operates his own website, podcasts, and is a father of two budding sprouts. Overall, I feel like this episode truly redeemed the last one. Today we have an exclusive interview with Family Guy showrunners Rich Appel and Alec Sulkin about the long-running animated sitcom's upcoming 17th season. Teenager: Smoking is for losers. He doesn't have to stop drinking, he can still smoke pot if he wants to -- hell, he can even read up on the pros and cons of cannabis, compared to big pharmaceutical medications and other assorted medicine, as long as he's doing something productive.
Following a recap of previous episodes including the very last one recounting Brian's marriage to Jess, we find Brian about to burn down his apartment building to fake his own death. And, of course, to play the joke out until it is dead, they also take us back to the old Star Wars episodes — the best time of the series if you ask me. Because there's such a lengthy production schedule for new episodes, Season 17 is where the absence of both Fisher and West truly becomes apparent. But my point still stand. Chris, you have to do it. No violence or crude sex scenes.
Peter also popped up everywhere with some substantial comedy relief, to make the whole episode much more entertaining. Brian appreciates being an overweight husband until reality kicks in. During one sequence he's seen stuffing his face at a restaurant and then violently vomits all over Jess while cleaning up the mess he made on the floor. But when Lois raids Stewie's piggy bank, she discovers the vaping and reads them the riot act and takes the pen, leaving Stewie stuck going cold turkey. When his weight causes him to dislocate his hip, Jess finds that she has to take care of him. Lois: Sorry, Meg found pictures on your father's computer and she's blackmailing us. With Brian married after the first episode of the season, it is time to find out where that goes.
That, or just end the show with this episode. What I mean is, I believe the best option for him would be to take some time to reflect on his life and work on ways he can develop himself into a better character, preferably back to the charismatic, cultivated, elegant and sophisticated voice of reason he was between seasons 1 and 4. They cannot make us care about this Manipulative, uneducated mongrel. His misery gets the best of him, and he is ready to throw it all away until Peter convinces him that marriage is not so bad. Knew the marriage was short lived.
Peter: I understand pieces now and then. Teenager: We're not smoking, we're vaping. When Peter discovers this, he rushes to the pound to save Brian and they meet Jess in the lobby. But maybe the best start for him would be to pick up a book either by William Shakespeare, Edgar Alan Poe, Rudyard Kipling, any big author in history, really and regain what knowledge he lost in his character derailment. At the suggestion of Peter, Brian lets himself go, causing Jess to make a surprising decision. The weight ends up causing Brian to have a hip displacement, which means Jess has to take care of him.
Stewie: Why don't you just get a phone? With a recap of what happened in Family Guy, they take us back to the pilot. Family Guy Season 17 premieres Sunday, September 30 on Fox. Peter convinces him that married life isn't all bad, but he instead adopts self-destructive behavior by way of massive weight gain. Chris: You're smoking the vape pen?! Of course she wouldn't have choke if she could have slowed down on her eating. Chris: Stewie, you told dad? As his needs finally become too much for her to bear, she convinces him that she is paying for a hip replacement but she has actually dumped him off at the pound to be euthanized.
