I would like to use my back panel jack for haedphones really bad, since my little ones kids seem to like pull on wires. I'm on windows 7 ultimate. Is there a way to trick the system into thinking that the jacks are plugged in so that I can push audio out of the rear panel? Is there a difference in quality between the two? You can try to hear which one is noisier by plugging in headphones with nothing playing and turn the volume and see which one has more noise. If you use only the back connectors the front ports aren't physically connected you get full 5. Otherwise use what's convenient for you. I could even control the volume of this sound with my computer volumesettings. Also you may try to disable enhancements and check if it helps.
